Hi there
NO WAY will tablets etc take over PC's -- I've just been messing around with some Video files -- not too large -- and even on a 16GB QUAD 3.2 GHZ processor video conversions and DVD burning take a LONG LONG TIME - even paralleling up for using all 4 cores -- no way on this or any other planet in the universe would a tablet be capable of performing these sorts of tasks in any sensible timeframe whatsoever.
(It might complete ONE project in time for YEAR 3000 left running 24 hrs a day (Y3K - where I suppose people will be wondering why their leap year stuff is broken !!!!!).
Tablets may have their uses but not for these sorts of tasks in any shape or form - I could really do with an 8 Core I7 (if there is such an animal).
Cheers
