Okay. Hi everyone, obviously, I'm new here. I just updated to windows 8.1 from windows 8 a while ago. I would like to ask how to disable the old style right click on start screen?

I want my original 'right-click style' on windows 8. But by default it currently uses the classic-style, I'm going to provide a screenshot to let you see what I mean.

I think my problem is simple(or not?) but I have tried searching it as hard as I can in google, youtube and on this forums, but to no luck. My apologies for my bad grammar and I hope I posted in the right section. :)

,Thank you in advance.

You can have both now, while a tile is highlighted (pointer on it) hit SPACE.

Thanks for the reply :)

and yes it does but, what I mean is if I can have the windows 8 right click by default so I won't have to hit space and have the classic one by hitting space.

I have my dough's ,but there maybe a way to do it ,people wanted changes like to the start screen so Microsoft made the change in the latest update ,and left the option to hit the spacebar for people like yourself who want thing the old way , I will in my spare time have a look for somewhere to change it if I find it I will post back the info ,happy computing

Thank you, caperjack.
I need the original windows 8 style for a personal reason. :(

Oh, and by the way. I checked out some reviews on 8.1 and their right click is the same as win8, unlike mine.

that might be a glitch in there latest windows update ,I recently had to manually reinstall the last big update on one of my computer because after it did the automatic updates ,I had not options in start to x out apps or no taskbar [and maybe other stuff not sure ],but a manual reinstall of the updates fixed the missing features .

Last update to 8.1 brought that feature.
