Windows 8 clock changing to wrong time after every restart

    Hello all!

Bit of a strange problem here windows clock keeps resetting time after every reboot it still stays in the same time zone just changes the clock.

Iv'e changed the CMOS battery and the BIOS time is correct.

It did this on Windows 8 and still doing it on windows 8.1.

    Thanks!!!!

What does it change it to? The reason I ask is that I had a similar problem because Microsoft didn't implement daylight saving time for the timezone I was in (Tunisia) which was later fixed. Until the fix I had to use Paris instead where the hour offset was correctly implemented.

    Thanks for reply

Just changed it now the time was 6:57pm and my local time is 10:02am - The timezone does not change.

    Bizarre

Does the date get messed up too, or just the time?

Ah, OK, your motherboards CMOS battery likely needs to be replaced. It maintains the date and time when the PC is off. It also maintains some BIOS settings so your BIOS Boot order and other settings may be getting messed up to.

    Welcome to Windows EightForums, Kijji.

Is everything set properly in “Date and time” and “Region and language” in “PC Settings”?

Do you have Sync to Internet time enabled? If you sync to the internet time, does it show correctly?

I have seen Clocks change time and mine was doing that for a while, but usually just the hour would change.

I have also seen problems if you might be dual booting to another OS, like Linux.

Forgot to mention that the machine is on a domain and the internet tab time is missing / disabled.

Could maybe be sync issue with the Domain - Going to take the machine off the domain and then re-add.
