Hello dear friends

I have one Lenovo desktop PC

It was delivered with Windows 8.0

My friend have wiped its hard drive out.

There are no more partitions on the drive.

Is there any way to install a Windows 8.0 and next with lot of patience upgrade and update it?

I have read some threads about this argument, but they are not providing an working solution

Thank you for any hint

Cor.

One option is to purchase recovery media from the manufacturer. That will restore it to factory condition. Another option is if you can get your hands on a Windows 8.0 DVD it should read and use the OEM embedded key in the BIOS and install the matching version. You may have to install some drivers etc to get all the hardware working. Some will say that option two is not legal but the way I look at is this. If it reads and uses the original OEM embedded key and activates with it, it should be fine. It's not cheating the system etc, so no harm no foul. That's just my personal opinion on the matter.

EDIT: Once you have Windows 8.0 installed you can update to 8.1 though the Windows Store. Another option is to install Windows 8.1 with one of the generic install keys. These keys let you install 8.1 but they won't activate. Once you have 8.1 installed you use the change key option to enter your OEM Windows 8.0 key and activate with that legal key. This lets you go right to 8.1 and skip all the updating.

The hard part is finding the install media. There is this download but it will not let you download with an OEM key. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/18309-windows-8-windows-8-1-iso-download-create.html?filter

Yes, give it a try and let me know how it goes. My TechNet 8.0 ISO will read and use the embedded key in my laptop no problem. Some users have had issues though. PC's with Windows 8 "Single Language" installs had to hunt for that special version to get it to read the embedded key.
