Hi brummyfan,

I'm not sure if this information will be of any help but my video thumbnails only show up in the default video folder:

Unfortunately, I never really explored the full possibilities but maybe yours might work that way as well.

So, I read your issue again, and this time it appears you might have actually done your testing in the same location as I did; however, your image does not show that same location. Now, if that is the case, there could be some sort of codec compatibility issue at play here. As a test, you might consider changing the default file type association, for the extension in question, to another media player just to see if that works.

Thank SpringUpdate, I have switched to VLC as default player but only got VLC icons. These files are .MOD type and I could convert them in VLC but there are too many to convert in order to make a movie, I have also tried k-lite codecs but didn't help. BTW, my default Video folder shows the thumbnails.

BTW, my default Video folder shows the thumbnails.

At least ours works the same way. Now, as far as how to make those thumbnails show up elsewhere, I would only be guessing at best; however, I am sure there are many that know more than I do regarding this subject. Hopefully they'll respond.

One more thought. I have read that .mod files can be simply changed to .avi files without the need for any conversion. If true, you could copy one of your movie files, change the extension, try to play it, and see if that works for you.

Good luck to you!

I think I found something.

I copied my video folder to a different location and then I changed the folder type to "video" and it worked!

Maybe just changing the folder type on your current folder might do the trick?
