Random Clicks Occurring When Laptop is Asleep

When I close my laptop's lid, the computer is supposed to go to sleep. However, upon waking my computer, a bunch of random things have been clicked. For example, a lot of my shortcuts on Chrome, links on websites, and programs pinned to my taskbar. My laptop is also a touchscreen, could something weird be happening there? When hibernating, my computer has no problem with this. Also, my computer requires a password upon wake from sleep, so I suspect it is not actually sleeping and maybe the heat from the screen is causing clicks on the touch screen? I am not really sure, any ideas? Thanks!

Probably have some setting to have it reopen things. It helps to know what is the mfg & model of the tablet you are using. Also are you running any type of Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware?

I have this laptop with an added 8 gig RAM card:

Samsung ATIV Book 8 15.6" TouchScreen Laptop 8GB Memory 1TB Hard Drive NP880Z5E-X01UB - Best Buy

I also suspected maybe some sort of virus, and ran a bunch of tests/fixes that did not seem to change anything. I have Windows Defender, I think I ran Malwarebytes and some other antivirus scanners too a while ago when the problem started.

Edit: Also, I am running Windows 8.1.

Hello, CheeseJam. I read in your history you had problems with this laptop back in October. What was the result of that?

That laptop's screen stopped working. So I returned it and got a new one. Now my laptop seems to not going to sleep properly. I wonder if whatever triggers the laptop being recognized as closed is not being triggered or something?

Could be a switch. When you close the lid can you hear the fan? Does it cool down after a while? Those are signs that it's sleeping.

It seems to sleep every time that I test it (like right now), but it must not be sleeping sometimes. Sometimes at night I'll wake up to Windows sounds from my laptop that is supposed to be sleeping and I'll open it up and the screen is already on and everything is really hot because the screen has been on I think.

I think it will only wake when plugged in to do maintenance and/or updates I believe, so that would be normal. What does your manual or online help say about your particular machine?

I do not have the owners manual in my current home, I can't seem to find it online either.
