I'm anti-cloud because I have limited allowance with satellite ISP. I also agree there are too many on/off switches that are hard, ok not obvious, to find especially for desktop users.

But yes I am aware of those restrictions.
Most of the time, from what I've heard, you can do the phone activation on a motherboard switch. You just tell them what happened, the old one died and you couldn't find an exact replacement. They are pretty fair about stuff like that.

Yeah, I dare say most users wouldn't think to look in OneDrive for some of those settings. It's a lot of stuff to mull over too.

Most of this is moot. There is no Oem licence with 8 it's a systems builder licence. It's alright for a home hobbyist to use, you don't need to buy any hardware. And you can move it now to another computer.

Your initial comments regarding the above would lead one to believe you had no idea where they came from or how they got there. That is why I was so concerned; however, now that you have clarified they are yours (and you knew that all along), my concern (regarding same) appears to have been a waste of time.
Looking at my post yes, I am not very good with punctuation or proper English, being Australian its kind of common. I do aplologise, my intention was not to waste your time, however your time is truly appreciated Spring.

That's the thing, just when you think you have it figured out, they change the rules again.

I'm a transplanted Cape Breton'er. I moved here in 88 and married a local girl. My wife says I'll never be a true Cape Breton'er as I don't like Tea. Such is life.
