Inactive Window Appearance.

I was just wondering if anyone had found a way to alter the border of inactive windows yet.

I'm still finding it really annoying and awkward. All windows are merging into one. I was hoping 8.1 might have solved the issue, but I can't find it.

I thought it worth stating a new thread just to see what the general response was.

Thanks.

Hello.

When you have a few windows open only the window that's active has a border colour of choice. All the inactive windows merge into one because the border is so indistinct. This makes Windows 8 an uncomfortable experience that I never had with the others.

So I was wondering if 8.1 had solved this without having to mess with the registry as here: http://www.eightforums.com/customization/8355-desktop-change-inactive-window-colour.html

I've put a Snip below as illustration, I hope it works but may be oversize or too small, so don't shout at me like someone did on Mozillazine :(

The inactive windows seem quite distinct to me. I don't see the problem.

They don't to me, especially when filling the whole screen and not a small capture - that's the problem.

Many thanks for reply.

Good idea, but that changes the size (and position) of all the windows which I don't want. Emboldening the font won't help because you can't always see it. It's all about a definition of borders and ease on the eye, thus speed of use, but it looks like it's one of those things I'm going to have to get used to as I don't really want to mess with the registry.

I'd just hoped that 8.1 and sorted it as there's loads out there whom don't like the new theme, as I found out Googling the issue.
