Is there a way to exit the current app?

When using a metro app, I know you can switch to another one or the start menu, then drag the former one out from the left then down to close it, but that seems like a really convoluted way to close a program. Is there some touch function to quickly close the current program, like the "red x" in the top right of non-metro programs?

In Metro UI apps cant be closed; they go to a suspended mode and dont use machine resources

    ~edit~

Seems that in WCP ALt+F4 works. It didnt in WDP

You can also go to the left side of the page, all your open apps will show up, go to the one you want to close, right click on the mouse, and close.

There is also something. Go to uppermost of the app screen hold click and drag it down to the right or left, see what happens.

I should have been clearer earlier, I'm looking for touch functions in specific. When I'm using my computer in laptop mode I don't really use metro apps, but I want it to preform well as a tablet.

I don't really care if the apps aren't using up system resources when suspended, they're using up *my* resources, mentally. Making it very easy to open new apps but very hard to close them has the effect of clogging my sidebar up with unused apps until I give up and restart because it's faster than doing the stupid drag down thing to get rid of them.

Just drag the app down and throw it away.
