Windows 8.1 Laptop Power Troubles
how do i change my settings on my windows 8 laptop to not go black when i close the laptop lid when everything is set to do nothing.

You may not be able too. The switch that detects that the lid is closed may be hard wired to turn off the backlight to save power when the lid is closed. I'm assuming your talking about the built in display.
