Good morning BKRMSA and welcome to EightForums.

For what it's worth, thus far, it seems that none of our more talented helpers have noticed this thread. One reason being that it was started back in 2014 and the last post prior to yours was June 25, 2015.

I will contact a couple of helpers and see if they know what's going on with your computer.

It should be noted that when we have a problem, a new thread should be started, reason being that your problem will be more noticeable and you'll be more likely to get help.

For now, leave it on this thread . . . back in a bit.

OK, I've contacted a couple of helpers and hopefully one of them will be here shortly.

While you're waiting, if you would, post the results of your sfc/scannow for them. Also, check the rest of the things suggested in the thread.

OK, it's time to start a new thread:

    1. Start the new thread in "General Support" and name it: Programs Stop Responding/Hang in Windows 8.1
    2. Once you've started the new thread, come back here and give me the link to it.
    3. Fill in the complete system information for your computer; Use Speccy if necessary. Get it free here: Speccy - System Information - Free Download
    4. Do a clean boot: Tutorial here: Troubleshoot Problem with Clean Boot in Windows 8
    5. Do sfc/scannow using Option 3, Point 2: Tutorial here: SFC /SCANNOW Command - Run in Windows 8
