    Windows 8 Brightness Increments

    Hey guys,
So I was wondering if anybody knew what the registry key (or other option) was for the incremental brightness steps.
I am trying to figure out if I can lower the amount that my brightness changes in each "step" or click of the brightness function key. I know for a fact my display supports changing the brightness in smaller increments (You can do it with the slider in the battery settings) I just need to figure out how to change the amount that Windows increments/decrements per key-press.
    Thanks,
    -Falven

What is the manufacturer & model of your computer? If you set the brightness at a certain level, it should stay that way. Also to keep in mind. Depending on the GPU on your computer. The software for it can use Adaptive brightness. Basically it uses the camera or light sensor to adjust the brightness.

I have a MBPr Late 2013. Yes, I understand that the brightness stays at what it gets set, however, my concern is with being able to adjust it more easily, having more fine grained control over the adjustments. I do have adaptive brightness on. It would be nice, though to be able to adjust it in smaller increments using the brightness keys F1-F2, Rather than having to try and pull a slider around with the crappy trackpad bootcamp drivers

We would need to also know what GPU your Mac Book Pro has.

It appears that they took out the Registry key that you used to be able to use. Your only choice is by controlling it from Power Options, or depending on your GPU, you can try downloading the administrative tools for it (ie if amd, download the amd Catalyst Control Center from amd.com. If it is Intel, same thing).

Intel Iris 5100 With latest non-beta drivers. No option to change the brightness increments in the control panel. I am pretty sure this is just something in the bootcamp drivers.
