Reduce Indexing

Hello,
I noticed that the indexing service on my computer is eating away at my battery. Every time I log in it begins rebuilding or checking whether items are indexed. Yes, I have let it run all the way until it stops. I have done it every time logged in.
So my question is, is there a way, besides completely turning it off, to just reduce the amount of times it runs, maybe re-schedule it to run once a week or something?

That would just disable indexing for the entire drive, every subdirectory, no?

Exactly, this is not what I am looking for. I am trying to change how often it checks not what it checks.

I have found that Windows Search still will set default directories, due to the File History program tells it those default directories. I have tried myself going in and unchecking them. Then around five boots later, they come back, due to File History.

I don't think you understand what I am saying lol
I'm saying I don't want to turn it off entirely. You can do that in the advanced settings, I just want it to run less often.

You can't , your only options are to disable it totally or reduce the locations that it indexes , there is currently no way to reduce how often it indexes.

As far as I know , it checks the set locations for changes and then re-indexes it if it finds any changed file timestamps or new files.
