    Easy way to clean Registry??

Just curious I removed Norton and downloaded another antivirus, in my notification area there are annoying icons that are not even used by my laptop..

Is there a guide to follow to remove them or a 3rd party app to use?

First off,,,,, when you Un-Install Norton with its own uninstaller, it does not remove everything.
It can actually leave several hundred (or thousand) registry entries.
Either use the "Norton Removal Tool" or an uninstaller like "Revo Uninstaller". Both can be had for free.

The safest registry cleaner I've found for Windows 7+, is "Win Utilities".

And an equally good program for cleaning out junk, and optimizing your registry is Tuneup Utilities from AVG.

I use both of the above Utilities.

    Good Luck and Happy Computing!

I personally would not recommend using any registry cleaner! The registry does not need cleaning.

well i like to keep my desktop clean, and find useless icons that are no longer needed a waste, so i figured if there was a way to completely remove things that i no longer use it would make things better for me

What icons are we talking about. And how did you remove Norton. Did you run the Norton Removal Tool.

I too recommend against Reg cleaning (usually very little or no benefit), but if you really want one, Ccleaner has a reputation of being the best. Just make sure you backup the registry and what ever else you do to protect your computer before you perform any registry scan.

If you have not used the Norton tool you are in for surprises. Better get that done.

So is the icon problem fixed ?

Ccleaner also has an option to reset the tray notification cache.
