Laptop keeps going into sleep mode despite settings

When I'm idle for several minutes my laptop will go to sleep by itself

power settings are all switched to never (never go to sleep, never dim screen etc)

Screensaver set to none with maximum possible waiting time

battery is full with charger plugged in

Yeah I did, no luck

this might help ,maybe, maybe not .instructions for for win7 it works the same in win8 .

In addition to caperjacks suggestion, I'm going to ask, what is your laptop, specifically?
