WTF did 8.1 do to my desktop?? (skydrive)

I just built a new desktop and installed 8.1 on it, everything was going perfect until I had this crazy idea of checking my email from the tile app. It asks me to login and so I do, then it asks me something about skydrive syncing all my files, and yeah no I don't want that, so I hit no.

So then what happens, despite me saying no to this syncing, my whole desktop starts looking a lot like it does on my laptop. What in the f***. My mouse moves like it does on my laptop, there's the same wallpaper, the same apps, same settings. What the hell is going on here????

Can I undo this, or do I have to reformat ?

All I can say is WTF.

Hello HatesMS, and welcome to Eight Forums.

What happened is that you switched your account to a Microsoft account.

It does sound like some of your personal settings were synced still. Double check using the tutorial below to make sure that syncing is turned off completely.

Afterwards, you'll need to manually change each setting back to what you had before it synced.

Sorry, but it did what it was suppose to do. It just turned out not to be what you wanted.

There's really no need to reinstall since all you have to do is change a few settings back after making sure sync is turned completely off.

If memory serves me you were asked if you wanted to sync settings during the Install. I was, you could have said no then. It can be annoying when it reorders your tile layout or changes your wallpaper but you can pick and chose what to sync between PC's or turn it all off completely. I don't sync between PC's but I do sync my personalization setting for each PC to skydrive/onedrive. Then on a clean install it saves me setting a bunch of stuff up again.
