Please help - App Crashing - Alternatives?

    Hello everyone,

I have a Windows 8 Tablet, I got this tablet to assist in my communication. The app I was using was .Txt Viewer Pro

The app was very simple, you opened a .txt notepad file and the App would read it out. This meant I could load files that said things like

"I am lost, please can you help me to get home, my information is on my medic alert in my bag front pocket"

This app was helping me to stay safe and to talk even if I was physically unable to.

Suddenly as of today, when I click the "Listen" button the swirling circle freezes and the app closes itself.

I have tried to find an alternative with a very good voice like that but so far I am unable to, I am not sure what voice it used.

I have just done a system restore on my tablet and the app still is doing the same thing.

My device is a Toshiba Encore Tablet.

Is anyone able to help, please... I really need help to find an alternative.

This isnt a program, but turns text to speech:

    Speak.vbs

    {If you download it, right click it & click Properties & Unblock it if need be.}

    Its' code is:

    Dim msg, sapi
msg=InputBox("Enter your text for conversion– ","Madeline_Speaks")
    Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
    sapi.Speak msg

    To get a nice voice:

Thank you, is there a way to get something like this bigger? My tablet screen is so small. The app I used was on Metro with a big button. Can this load .txt files allowing me to create pre-loaded responses?

I guess I am asking to much. The app I had worked perfectly.

I have downloaded what you have said for now, but without being able to make pre-loaded responses for emergencies it is not very helpful.

For your purposes, another App would be better.

Sorry the vbs isn't suitable to your needs.

Do you know of any other apps that do the same thing? Load .txt files and read them out loud?

You could try uninstalling the app & then reinstall it.

I have done that, I have formatted the whole tablet wiping all my data and starting over. For some reason nothing I do will work. Every time I load my txt file and click listen, it just closes back to the metro screen.

I could try make a video if you are needing to see what is happening

Hi! I have a desktop with Windows 8 pro installed. I am using an external monitor with a brand name I am not familiar with (it has a "w" with 3 dots at the top). Also, I can change the brightness through the settings but it has some bands going slowly up the screen and it kind of distracts me....

Despite what everyone says, I disagree that a desktop enviroment can't be made "touch friendly" All it needs is: 1) a "long-press" to replace "right-click" 2) a "Graphical button grid" to replace the "text menu" (think Android 4.0)
