For some reason my printers no longer work. I tried reinstalling the printers and drivers but got an error message that the printer spooler was no longer functioning. The Print Spooler no longer shows in my Services. I cannot find it in my Registry. Everything I tried when I googled the problem did not work. How do you reinstall a Print Spooler or fix a corrupted spoolsv.exe file In the registry?

Thanks

PDEmery

Hello PDEmery, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Since the service would have needed to been deleted to no longer be there, I would recommend to do a full scan of your system with an AV program to be safe.

If you like, you could use the tutorial below to reinstall the Print Spooler service to see if that may be able to help.
I would also recommend to run a sfc /scannow command to try and repair any corrupted system files.
Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn

Thanks Shawn, But unfortunately did not work.I tried Associating the .reg file with Regedit But I got an error message Telling me it could not be associated with that kind of file. Very strange. Everything that I've tried to do has failed.Very discouraging. Not sure where to go now. The last thing I want to do is reinstall Windows.

Actually, I had tried out earlier. Unfortunately, I get an error message that it could not restore. I had also been my Virus Scan and found nothing. Go figure. Is the moon full? :)
