i understand. Thank you. But about the administrator rights. I need to confirm even if I'm renaming a shortcut on my desktop. I think all of these are caused by this thing with importing user settings when you log in with your Microsoft account. Previously on Windows 8 everything was fine but now on 8.1 i have to confirm almost everything. Why?

I know you've probably set UAC, but maybe when you upgraded to 8.1 it reset. I know even when it's set to Never Notify it still wants confirmation for some things. When I launch CCleaner it still asks me to confirm that I want to run it. But that being said I've come to realize and appreciate the fact that it is a safety feature that's trying to protect me and so I have to confirm it operation, it does run. I know there is a way to completely disable UAC and not just turn notification off and you would have to search this forum as I have seen instruction on here on how to do it. Also going back to the orphaned update folder, I would go inside the folder and delete what I could because believe it or not it may be just some file you will need to take ownership of - will save you some time.

    Deleting the folder - Done!
    Thanks.

Regarding the other thing ...i don't know .. it's weird because -- first time i had Windows 8 and then i upgraded to W8.1 via Windows Store.
Something went wrong lately and decided to try again Windows 7 (this one was preinstalled when i bought my laptop) , W7 turned out to be crappy after 1 week of just browsing the internet and using eclipse so i switched back to 8.1 this time directly to W8.1 (fresh install - I get all of these for free thanks to my university and Dreamspark).
And i find it weird because first time whe i upgraded to 8.1 everything was perfect but nou on a fresh install i have to deal with taking the ownership and all this stuff.

However , thank you for helping me with that folder .
