Solved How do I remove a group name from my start screen?

This is my first post in this forum so please bear with me as I find my way around.

I have organized the apps on my start screen and named/renamed the groups they occupy. I have decided that I want to combine the apps in two of the groups into one group. How can I delete one of the groups and move their apps to the other group?

You are talking about the Metro screen of course. You would need to just click on the group, then at the bottom choose delete. Only after you move the metro apps in that folder of course.

Instead;

Right click on multiple tiles that you want to move (at the same time) drag them to the column you want to merge them to.

Thanks for the tip ants pants. I never mess with Metro, so I never knew you could do that. Good tip to know.

its really quite simple ,just drag the icons to the group you want to keep,and the other group will simply disappear ,does in my win8.1 enterprise anyway

Yeah it works a treat, saves having to drag icons one at a time or group select tiles. Cheers

this doesn't works for me it just movers the other out of the way of the one im dragging

Really? Did you make the tiles/start screen shrink first. Ill have another look when im home, right now im literally hanging of the side of a high rise. Workmates wanna lnow what im doing, I said its an emergency lmao

Yeah so sorry.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Unfortunately none of them worked for my setup. But I did solve my problem.

Here's what I did. First shrink the screen. Then right click the Group. Then select Name group at the bottom of the screen. Click on the X to clear the existing name. Then click on Name. This will delete the Group name but preserve the Group on the screen. Click anywhere to return to the full screen. Then drag the apps to the other Group. The old group is now gone.
