Here's one for you to ponder over! Only I would have added desktop into the title of this. Windows 8: Where Tablets Become Laptops and Laptops Become Tablets should have read "... and Laptops as well as Desktops Become Tablets.

Too funny. I just saw YF on the big screen for the first time the other day. Absolutely incredible.

I don't see 8 as a vista, vista was released when users were not prepared for the hardware requirements and or didn't read and guess what they complained and guess what they didn't read. They thought if they could run XP they could run Vista boy were they wrong..

Windows 7 had a good release because driver support and users were more prepared for the upgrade, since the requirements are the same as 7 there won't be the vista fiasco.

Aero glass isn't there really big woop, too distracting to be honest, just use the release preview theme and you're good to go, has a nice window and taskbar border so it looks nice, even the default looks nice with text glow enabled.

If aero glass is your biggest fuss than seriously you are superficial.

Not necessarily. If you are staring at it most of the day - how it looks can be surprisingly important.

Most purchasing decisions are based largely on how a product looks and feels. The correct design is vital to get a product sold.

I am surprised at some of the comments here, too. We all buy this for their aesthetic appeal - form and function go hand in hand these days. The idea that a keyboard shortcut is an acceptable alternative, or that "aeroglass isn't...", well - what can be said?

To confirm my earlier posts on this thread. This opinion is spreading all over like a summer fire. People saying the problem is a refusal for learning are not telling all the story because there is much more and more important to that. This is it.

If you use the desktop and don't touch metro(at all) you probably don't need to upgrade, there are refinements to windows like any update but there really isn't much to really go to 7 > 8, I would more likely wait until windows blinds if the look is all you care about.
