    "Waking" from Sleep Reboots System

hello guys! would love some help, various google search solutions don't seem to either solve my problem, or be quite so relevant to mine, or maybe my search skills just suck

The following is the best way I can describe whats wrong with my system.

    1) Boots up normally, use laptop normally for work, play, nothing is wrong at all

    2) Put it to sleep either by power button, right-clicking windows button OR closing lid, and yes, it is Sleep

    3) Laptop seems to go to 'sleep' state - the fan sound disappears quite quickly (5 seconds), and the power LED blinks - I've had laptops before and this is very very normal 'sleep' activity so i don't think anything is wrong here

    3) 'Wake' laptop by either power button, or opening lid:
    - power LED stops blinking and becomes a constant 'on', processor LED starts blinking like normal - at this point it looks like a normal wake
    - after about 1-2 seconds, system POWERS DOWN, yes powers down - no sound, hard drive stops, no lights, for about 0.5 seconds
    - system boots up again, taking the normal amount of time to power up, from fresh, ie, as if I have just shut down the computer, and started it up again.

    4) enter Boot screen

    5) sign in to Windows, and all my previous programs, windows, work, will be gone, but otherwise everything will work properly, just like if you started from a fresh boot up

    can anyone help with this?

    Notes:
prior problem - when going to sleep, system will not 'sleep' but just go into a black screen with the power LED 'on' and no processor LED or any other light, fan still moves tho, and there is no way to fix it other than force restart. Fixed by installing latest Intel drivers for GPU

tested solutions - disabling 'hybrid sleep', saying never hibernate, definitely checked that 'lid' and 'power button' actions are for sleep (not hibernate or anything else), cmd prompt > powercfg -h off, reinstalling all my display drivers to older versions, Windows troubleshooter (selecting power)

seriously, loads of thanks in advance for any help!

Have you tried the sfc & dism commands in administrator command prompt ?

    sfc /scannow

    then

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    then reboot &

    sfc /scannow again.

wow ok, is it safe? i mean, is there a reasonable chance that i might screw things up with those commands? and no i have no idea what they do.

and I'll assume that I just type into cmd prompt letter for letter what you just typed yea?

EDIT: ok it seems these are diagnostic tools so I'll go ahead and do them

    Very safe.

    They MIGHT help.
    But they won't hurt anything.

You could type them in or copy & paste them in.

After copying, right click the title bar of the administrator command prompt & click Edit & Paste.

They take a while to run & finish
Dism usually hangs on 20% for a long time & suddenly completes.

EDIT--What they do is fix problems.

ok so i did as you said, and it fixed some 'problems', some corrupted stuff that was there 1st scan but not in the 2nd

but the original problem is still there, exactly the same

I hear that. It's because it can't and won't fix your drivers or remove problem ones.

    I said they might help.
You got some other problems fixed.

That's a step in the right direction.

Maybe someone else will come along to help.
