I don't know what has happened to my PC but today I got some error message saying Your PC encountered an error will restart so it restarts and says the same exact thing so I tried to reinstall windows 8.1 off the disk and it brings up the same exact error message and restarts.

Also I built this myself so I can't send off to get fixed by Sony,Microsoft or whoever

Hi there, HeyDontFall.

I read your history here and it seems your problems are getting worse. I understand it's your own build about 4 months old? Is that correct?

Please fill out your system specs or post them here so we may better help you.

Have you made any changes to hardware or software lately?

I joined here recently but I built this PC about year ago and since then upgraded the CPU to a 8320, added a 120GB SSD for Windows and Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 and today I did a system restore and upgraded to the new 14.2 drivers today from AMD but while I was playing a round of BF4 I got a Red Screen of death and that's when it all went downhill

Now what does this most likely sound like? GPU,Ram or SSD? It loads the Windows 8.1 disk then it crashes

I think it's hardware, but I'm not a BSOD analyst, but there are members here that are. You may want to post your problem here: BSOD Crashes and Debugging - Windows 8 Forums

But first read this: http://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cra...e-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html then post.

Also, again, it would help greatly to fill out your system specs or post them there.

Here's a related thread you may want to look through.

Good luck to you and welcome to the forum.

HippsieGypsie is asking that you fully fill out you system specs that will show up in the lower left corner hot spot. You do it through the user CP. It will greatly help in attempting to help you. Things like motherboard, CPU and GPU, memory are important to know.

My gut tells me it's a memory module, but we'll see. I take it you're a gamer? Do you overclock this thing?

Good that you have the install media. You should be able to boot to the install disk for repairs. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2269-system-recovery-options-boot-windows-8-a.html

Did this thing run good with 7 on it? With the new CPU, SSD, and any other changes you may have performed?

I'll ask you one more time to fill out or post your machine specs, otherwise I'll have to withdraw helping. It is frustrating for me and others to help by second guessing what you have. I hope you understand that.

As I have stated many times my PC gets the error message when I try to boot the Windows disk and it restarts and I have updated my specs on my profile and haven't overclocked at all

Also this things runs a lot better with Windows 8.1

Thank you for filling out your specs. It helps us tremendously. Nice rig BTW. :thumb:

Not sure of the timeline of when you changed out hardware and how that might effect your problem. We assume all of it is compatible. Yes?

You might want to make sure the CPU, Mem strips, and everything else is seated properly if you haven't already done so. Inspect everything to make sure nothing fried. By all means unplug the unit before doing so and be careful of static electricity.

Does it have UEFI BIOS? I'm assuming so since it's a newer MoBo.

OK so you attempted reinstall. How far into the process does it get before it gives you the error message? And what a poorly designed little unhappy smiley that comes with that message, eh?!! The design team that released that should be demoted to the mail room! By all means, no offense to those who work a mail room.

Thanks for that. :)

Ok, so it loads the files, but upon sequential boot it stops with the warning. The trouble with this silly warning is that it gives no code or anything of value to go on.

You had 8.1 loaded on this SSD before, correct?

Ok I tried removing each stick of ram once and tried a copy of Windows 7 and it went to a BSOD after loading the files so I'm going to assume this is a problem with my SSD?

Yes. I'm thinking it's hardware if it ran 8.1 before. So many times with these gaming rigs it's the heat that causes trouble as you probably know.

Do you have another HD to slip in it? Test the other as a slave?
