    Search frustration

Hello, I used to be able to do a search and it would stay up as I checked each document to see if that was what I was looking for. Now when I do a search and click a document that comes up, the search disappears and I have to start all over again each time. This is frustrating because I often go looking through my collection of music notation files and have many to go through. Please advise...thanks!

Where would I go to delete file history? There is no option in this area. There is just a circle search icon and a drop down box to chose files or everywhere.

    Thanks for replying.

I am using the windows 8 search place. It's on the right of my monitor.

I am a senior lady...just saying, in case I am not making myself clear. I am a little dumb with computers because there weren't any when I was a kid.

To my knowledge Search will not stay open after you click on any results it gives. I have a better option for you.

    Download this: http://www.voidtools.com/Everything-1.2.1.371.exe

Install the program, type whatever your searching for in the top bar. It will allow you to open each item and remain open until you close the program.

Thank you both. It was really nice having someone out there answering me. Less frustrating and Yahooo for that program. It's the cat's meow. I love it. I will use this a lot because of my life style and how I like to use my computer. You both are royally smart

Hi, I like to be able to search for a file quickly and efficiently, preferrably without involving third-party apps. So when I press the Win key, I like that I can type into the search box directly, but it's annoying that the search scope is pre-set to "everywhere", as for some reason that's...
