Tracking down the culprit of multiple applications crashes

HI
The until now decent list of apps that are crashing is slowly growing up so I wanted to sniff the culprit and remove it.
In all previous cases the problem was non obstructive but today I wanted to update Daemon Tools which caused an unrecoverable error in the uninstaller therefore I can't update which I already consider limiting.
All crashing apps invoke the same dialog Program XYZ stopped to work (lookup online solution/Terminate program/Debug program). So I suppose there's some latent problem with my OS and all the situations have the same common divisor. Now I would need some clues how to track it. Any helpful suggestions please.

I don't like Deamon tools, have seen too many troubles with, if I get a computer with it installed I would not touch it if owner does not consent to remove it. I use and recommend Alcohol 52% that is free and does not make so many problems. Can also mount multiple images and has automount too. Windows8 can mount ISO images too

PowerISO is the way to go. Alcohol relies on same driver as DT, and that is one of most notorious system crashers on all Windows. (It highly depends on what else you do or don't have installed too.)

I'd give Mike rep but system says I can't.

Thanks for the feedback, alternatively I might consider replacing DTlite by something more compatible. But regardless DT the problem of crashing seems overlap only Daemon, I get this error by softwares which are otherwise working on my other computer without crashes (eg. Techsmith Snagit, Word 2013) so this looks like something broken on OS level which I indeed would get rid of to forestall further troubles. Unfortunately it's too latent to better examine (happens only on few cases).

Oh yeah, I forgot about PowerIso, good one too but I don't believe there's a free version of it. Used it before for some other features it has.

Yeah, it's free, but this is the only limitation:

"The unregistered version will display a dialog prompts you to register, and you can not create or edit image files greater than 300MB with the unregistered version. To remove these limitations, please register."

Most want that type of software simply to mount downloaded images, so it suits the needs. And then, it still is free if you catch my drift. lol (but you did not hear that from me.)
