No. I usually disable system restore. Slows my pc down and if I have a problem thats bad enough I can usually fix it myself. This one has me scratching my head though. It seems like the only thing I can trace it back to, is installing the intel chipset drivers..... Any chance this could be the issue? I dont want to go and roll back all of my drivers but if I have to.

Brink knows about drivers & stuff.

    I don't.

I'd hate to say it, but with something like that you may need to refresh or reset to fix it since you do not have any restore points.

Nobody said you had a tiny brain. Sorry if I somehow offended you. Creating a new user fixed it. I'll import my old info with netplwiz, and it should all be fine. Thanks to both of you!

    I said I have a tiny brain.

    Nobody offended me.

Some here like Brink, know a lot more about computers than I ever will.

It was just a personal joke about myself.

EDIT>>>I don't usually say anything about it but I have an IQ of 154. 4 points above genius level.

    { Still very tiny compared to Einstein or Issac Newton or Leonardo }

Ok fixed the problem, but fixed it the wrong way. No big deal, I have to get everything the way I liked it in my new account. The issue was caused by using an unsigned theme.

Hi, i have the same Problem but changeing the user is no Option for me (Domain User)

Yesterday I downloaded and installed Update 1 for windows 8.1 from MSDN.
I did it in exactly the recommended installation order.

After Rebooting everything seems to be fine, but a little later I tried to pin an App to my Startscreen but I could not do that because I had no right click menu on the tiles (And the old taskbar on the bottom of the screen doesn’t shows up anymore).

The strange thing is: if I create an new User it works for that User.
I tried lot of things including uninstalling of some tools but nothing could help.

At that Point I used my last restore point and everything was fine again.
Then I tried to install Update 1 with a new User.

After Rebooting Update 1 was back again and it worked for my new User but not for my normal User.

Now I just gone back to my restore point created before I applied Update 1 und posting this because I could not find a working solution for the Problem (Without dropping my old User)

    Some more Information:
I tried installing the Update on 4 different Computers but the Problem is the same on all of them (All have Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit German installed) but complete different Hardware and additional Software installed.
