    Yes, I do have Classic Shell installed. But I've not noticed this before. So if I'm understanding it right, it's not unusual but it's simply because I have Classic Shell installed. Is that the reason?

    Correct. You got the same as all of us. Now if you want to go back to the Metro start, right click on the start icon and Exit.

Hi! I was wondering if the Start button will ever return to Windows 8?
I got a new computer with Windows 8. I put the Classic Shell on. It skips the worthless Metro interface and goes right to the desktop. Some observations. The Aero Glass interface is gone. Some guy has come up with a work around but I am a little jumpy about trying that. The "new look" 8...

Thanks to a heads-up from okorsal, we can show you a simple Registry tweak that will restore the familiar Windows Desktop complete with the Windows 7-style Start Menu. (Thanks also to geek.com for publishing the tweak.)...
I find the new Windows 8 "start" lack the hierarchical organisation. After I installed a view programs the "start" page just become a big pile of mess. I would like to get the start button on the desktop. Is there a way to do it?
