A good alternative suggestion IMHO! I forgot to mention that I will also need you CPU information because I'm suspecting your CPU would control your integrated graphics options (if you are using a newer mobo). So, depending on the CPU used, you may or may not have that option available (even if you have a monitor connection available on the mobo). Again, a nice alternative suggestion by CountMike!

Alright so I found the onboard video card setting under my northbridge folder in my bios, set it to onboard but the computer still boots up to a black screen after the windows loading log on.

I was able to start cmd and run chkdsk on my c drive which finished in like 10 seconds which I found odd.. I'm currently running it on my D drive and it has another 5 hours.

EDIT: I started cmd through the windows 8 charms menu

Not odd for an SSD because it does not do a traditional defrag. Instead it does an optimization controlled by the TRIM function. OK, I think we need some fresh ideas here so I'm going to leave you to work with someone else from here on. At least you got you BIOS access back. Hope that was some help.

    Good luck,

Looks like you are down to drivers for both,, onboard and discrete video.

So I have no idea what else to do at this point, the only two things I have access to is the bios and windows 8 charm cmd.

I tried restoring to a windows update from 2 days ago and the screen is still black on start up after the windows loading logo.

chkdsk returned no errors on either drive and as I can tell I am using onboard video and am connected through dvi to my monitor

sfc /scannow from elevated prompt and also get rid of any 3rd party security.

When I try that I get

There is a system repair peding which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again.
I can't even restart because after I leave the charm menu windows starts to boot and the only way to restart is by turning off the power..

What happens when you restart the machine and leave it be for 15 minutes alone by itself?

Probably a good idea to clean install Windows.

I left it for 15 minutes and nothing happens, also I bought windows 8 digitally and have no idea what my key is and I don't really want to rebuy..

I tried running sfc in offline mode by typing sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\Windows but I get
Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
I am assuming this is because when I am in the charm menu my cmd starts in X drive X:\windows\system32
