Excellent, I will review the log files. In the meantime I suggest running chkdsk to ensure the file system is in good shape.

    How to run chkdsk:

Open an elevated command prompt > Type: chkdsk /R > you will be prompted to run the scan at startup Press Y > then Enter.

Restart your computer, allow the scan to run completely. It may take some time so be patient.

Chkdsk is only 10% done after hours

Hello, the chkdsk is still running and only 10% done, is there anyway to bail out of that chkdsk and basically, i set it to run the chkdsk after rebooting, but i can't seem to bail out of that operation!

    thanks for any suggestions!

Their is no safe way to bail out of chkdsk. It's important to let the program finish its work. If you for some reason decide to power off the computer it may render your system unbootable. Please allow it some time to finish, this step needs to be done at some point anyways.

Repairing damaged sectors can take a long time. So, yes that sounds completely normal. If you allow the computer to sit and the program hasn't made any progress after about 8 hours the only option would be to force the computer to shutdown. Although the results can be disastrous. However, from experience I can tell you disastrous results are a rare occasion.
