I am using Windows 8 and I started getting this message at Start up. Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?

Conduit is associated with malware. Newer version's have been spotted in the wild as adding a service which starts with Windows. This infection can be tricky to completely remove. Below is a guide on how to properly remove this item. Make sure you follow the instructions exactly as it can render your system no longer bootable if removed incorrectly.

Link: Remove Conduit Toolbar and search.conduit.com (Uninstall Guide)

If you haven't already now would be a good time to create recovery disc's.

and for anyone running winxp, its suggested to run the removal programs first ,before uninstall from add and remove programs ,as it is know to cause the winxp rebootloop, just saying in case someone see this and they are using winxp

Conduit Itself is not Malware per se, but the toolbars made with it can be. So it's better to remove it. The Entries that are trying to load, might be turned off in Taskmanager under "startup".

I have an old Conduit Toolbar I use for my band website, it has been pretty safe so far, but I never allow the bad things to load up, and you can control what loads into the toolbar from the site that creates it - Which is "Ourtoolbar.com"
