Hello everyone...
I have a request, I am using Windows 8.1, now I have a problem because i wanted do dual boot it with ubuntu and it didnt work on UEFI mode, but then when I installed ubuntu windows 8 wouldn't start... then I formated it with a downloaded windows 8 torrent... but now I can't start it on UEFI mode

it says somethind "media not found" or "faild" ...
so if I want to start it I have to change to legacy mode......

Is there anyway to get it back to start it with UEFI??? Please HELPPP
It aint activated yet.. windows 8.1 pro... is there any activatior or something too???

Or if I downgrade it to Windows 7? would it be any more the UEFI problem???

sorry for english... thanks

Try disabling Secure Boot in BIOS. A windows 8 torrent? That doesn't sound good.

Just a thought, it's been ages since I messed around with Linux distros but I seem to remember having to use EasyBCD to get rid of the 'GRUB' loader then repair boot files, or something along those lines. Am I barkin up the wrong tree with that?

This "It aint activated yet.. windows 8.1 pro... is there any activatior or something too???" is what raised red flags with me.

Did you install a MBR format for a Windows OS? UEFI does not accept any pirated OS version. You can disable your secure boot so you can boot in MBR format, then install a Genuine Windows OS in GPT format. after all installation you should be enable secure boot and fast boot again.
