I thought that's what WinSxS was... I don't know if Bing is stored in the Components Store... Do you have Bing Desktop installed? Because all of the Bing-Related folders are all in WinSxS per your picture. I would imagine that the Component Store holds the image containing ALL Programs, including those you do not have installed (?).

So, you can remove those folders and it does not affect your system or DISM component store?

I don't know, I read somewhere that DISM uses the files in that WinSxS folder, is that wrong? I was looking that up, cos I wanted to know where the component store actually was...

Here is a link I found useful.
    Expand Method 2.

    .NET Framework 3.5 installation error: 0x800F0906, 0x800F081F, 0x800F0907

I do not have Bing Desktop.
    It is an abomination.

I suggested sending Bing to the recycle bin & making a restore point in case deleting Bing caused problems.

    I don't know about WinSxS.

But all the Bing things in it, I suppose, are there to repair Bing.

Using Method 2 in my previous post I set my dism command to download needed components from Windows Update.

I figure I'll get the latest components that way.

That's what I need to do then - Thanx. I just use what's in the Local Store, I should use your method, is it in the tutorial here?

I agree, Anything "Bing" is a abomination. Any program that asserts it's installation is hideous, including Googol Toolbarf.

In fact, ESET and Malwayebytes BOTH are including Googol Toolbar as a VIRUS and Unwanted Spamware.

    Yep.
People need to be careful & make sure of what they install.

Anything Bing, I right click it & Hide the "update".

Maybe it didn't affect me because I have metro disabled. To disable uac completely, I went into the registry and disabled it from there, which in turn snorks all things metro.(I'm ok with that)
