Desktop and taskbar goes blank

I have an issue that started about an hour ago.

Every 5 minuets or so my desktop goes completely blank, i loose icons, background, task-bar, (time, date, keyboard input selection) only thing that stays is the far right icons that stay (battery, internet connection, volume)

I have no idea what causes this or why it occurs

I even tried refreshing it and still has the same issue, im going to try restoring it from backup

Have you tried scanning for viruses and malware, etc?

This could be an infection in your system.

Also I see you are doing a Restore, please report back with how that went.

I ended up removing everything and starting from new, luckily i had a recent back up so i didn't manage to loose that much stuff,
yea i have Avasti running, and Anti-malware bytes and came up not with no malware/virus's.

I think it had something to do with a Microsoft 2013 redistribution (x86) certificate but not too sure

Then later on you can use a feature in Windows 8 called system refresh it does not wipe all your data. (worth reading about anyway)

I did make a system image earlier and saved it onto a External HD, but my "smart.check.hd" this is giving me issues ever since i partitioned my hd for a VM, and ever since then i have been getting issues, i tried doing a complete restore of windows 8, and it took 5 hrs to even get 20% so i just decided to do it this way

but thanks for the help, even though i never really figured out the issue XD
