    You can't. I'm sure once the final version is released someone will make some mod that gives you the option to have the shut down button on your start menu/taskbar. But for now you'll have to live without the old Windows 7 features. That's the point though; Microsoft wants Windows 8 to be a whole new OS, not just an upgrade from Windows 7.

    At present you will just have to live with it. Give it time I am sure people are already making note to MS as to this problem.

    Well, as an alternative, you could use any of the options below to add Shut down to the desktop context menu or create a shortcut that you can pin to the taskbar, Start screen, or Apps screen.
