So i was typing very quickly earlier and all of a sudden my 2 windows in the taskbar split onto each side and below was an area that said all apps

It reminded me of that windows 7 alt tab thing, looked pretty cool but i cant replicate it now

Not sure if its a known thing i tried searching but could not find anything yet

It may be a feature of chrome?

Or are you talking about something similar to this:

There is a good chance that the feature is specific to the chrome you have installed, because I don't have something like that, and I also do not have chrome.

The feature I posted allows you to use thumbnails to switch between tabs in an 'app', such as internet explorer. It is default with Windows 8. You pause your mouse over your browser, and thumbnails will pop up showing you the different tabs you can switch to.

There is also the feature to look through different apps, for which it requires you to point your mouse in the upper left-hand corner, swipe straight down, and the menu pops up, like this:

Both of those features require you first to have such apps open. If they are not open, you cannot do what I described.

Sort of:

1. An admin of the forum has requested specifically in a post that pictures be uploaded to the site, rather than off-site. I can find the post if asked, but it may be a lot more work than it is worth ;)
2. These forums help other people too. If you upload a pic here, it makes it easier for everyone to see what you are meaning, for those who help to those who need help.

If you have personal info in a pic, blur it or erase it before posting. Also, I do not use dropbox.

Is there something special about a dropbox link? :D

That looks like some kind of customization. So it would be the result of installing some program or personalizer. I wouldn't know what one. So I wouldn't know how to use it either. If you want to get rid of it, let me know

I don't think it comes with chrome, but I'm not ruling it out. It only works with chrome?

All Apps was a feature of windows 8 (not 8.1, as it changes to an arrow). So I am curious where it would lead as well.

Actually, you probably do have 8 instead of 8.1. Do you not really want to upgrade to the latest Windows OS if this is true?

Sorry, your specs only stated windows 8. You can update them by clicking 'system specs' at the bottom of your post, and selecting 'update your system specs'.

Honestly can't say I ever seen it before. Let me know what keys you pressed in order to get to that screen if you can remember.

I may not be too much help in discovering the source, I'm afraid
