Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
A picture of your disk management would help to understand the situation.

Have you made the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

information   Information

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD. (Windows 8 only)

I would recommend you making the OEM manufacturer's Recovery DVD's or USB drive.
or
You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.

Boot-Repair is a simple tool to repair frequent boot issues you may encounter in Ubuntu like when you can't boot Ubuntu after installing Windows or another Linux distribution, or when you can't boot Windows after installing Ubuntu, or when GRUB is not displayed anymore, some upgrade breaks GRUB, etc.

LISTEN TO ME! I can fix ur laptop. Go to GOOGLE and type in ur laptop manufacturers name (for example: acer) then type stuff that will help you find out 'Which Buttons To Press At Start-Up to Access The Recovery Partition. (hopefully you didnt delete the partitions when you installed the new OS. once you figure out which buttons to press (like on my acer laptop the buttons I need to press are ALT and F10). so..figure that out (every laptop has it) and it will do a format of ur C drive and recover the OS with all preloaded software installed like how you first bought it and set it up for the very first time. hope that helps! you can also get windows 8 via many different ways (the disc) to format and install windows 8 on ur laptop and then you would need to reinstall the drivers from the manufacturers website under the support and downloads section, etc. recovery partition and recovery discs are the same thing except the partition is a partition on ur laptops hard drive and the discs need to be purchased, always go with the partition its simpler. the only person here who knows anything about this thread and how to help is the guy who mentioned the recovery discs lol...its so easy, god damn :dinesh:

Woh! Take it easy! In the total absence of any information from the OP, the offers made in this thread so far are the best anyone can come up with.

you're currently using Windows 8.1, do you even use a third party software to bring the start button/menu back. Stardock Start8 is the one I use, it's perfect and free on TPB.

What is the matter with you. You should be paying for your software.

Was that for me?
I have Windows 8.1 listed as my OS, on this site. But use all the Oss down to Vista, and even dabble in Linux.
Yes, I have tried all the start up menus, in order to give feedback. It was my preference to use the Modern GUI as my new start up menu, as I find it more accessible.
But, What has this got to do with this thread???

FWIW. TPB is banned by my ISP, and probably on this forum.
