IE 10 is secure, but MS makes more improvements to the most recent browser, which often reflects updated security. So it is true that IE 11 is MORE secure.

Windows 8.1 has a few updates, but most go unnoticed. The big change concerns apps, search, and the widows start on the desktop toolbar.
    1. Windows start: Added widows 'flag' to toolbar for easy click access to the start screen (still the same start screen)
    2. Apps are more easy to manage, including unpinning, uninstalling, and looking through the full app list
    3. Search now contains all entries in a single search, so you do not have to click multiple times to find apps, OR system, etc.

If you want to stay at 8.0 and skip 8.1 (I am) until 8.2 comes out, you can get rid of the update to 8.1 banner: Prompt to Install Windows 8.1 Will NOT Gow Away!
