    download/transfer .bin file to root directory windows 8/7

    I need to download/copy a .bin file to the root directory for each opertaing system , I havent a clue how to do this can anyone ( in simple terms) please

    Do you mean you're trying to copy a file to your 'c' drive...??

    I asume yes, if this is what is meant by the root file...I have them on my desk top at present but not sure how to get them to c; using windows 8

    Windows 8.0 x64

    Take Ownership - Add to Context Menu in Windows 8

    Once you have that, if your account is an Admin account right click on the file and click Take Ownership. Now you should be able to drag it to C: drive in Explorer. It may pop up a UAC prompt. If so click Yes.

    If that works do the same for other drives in Explorer.

I have a vista (sp2) 32bit PC & need to transfer the contents to a new Win 8 64 bit laptop. No cd/dvd drive on the pc (or 1 that works). What is the easiest & dummy proof way to do this? :confused: Thanks in advance.
i dont know if anyone has had the same issue but when transfering from my windows 8 pc to my whs the file transfers seem to stop at 99% and then fail. any help would be great
