Hello, a co-worker of mine has a computer that is stuck on the "Please Wait" when trying to boot in Windows 8. I have managed to get into command prompt by using Shift+F8 (after 3 tries), and ran dskchk, it returned two errors that it "corrected" but it didn't solve the problem. I also tried booting into Safe Mode in all its various forms, all of which still hang on the "Please Wait" screen.
This machine had issues in the past with Outlook causing issues when attempting to search, it would have to "re-index" the "mail file" before it could search, and then would just crash Outlook over and over again. This issue went away for a month or two, but resurfaced yesterday, and then about 5 minutes after the first Outlook crash, it crashed the machine with what I was informed was a "kernal error" that was at "21%" and then the machine just shut off.
Any ideas? Suggestions as how to fix this without reinstalling Windows? All I have access to is Command Prompt.
