Where oh where has my metro gone?

Hi
I hope this is the appropriate forum to get my problem solved----I have the latest Windows 8.1 PRO installed. I know I must have done something, but I don't know what---I cannot access anything using the tile (metro) part of the program. It's like I turned off the metro part of the program...short of reinstalling the whole program, what can I do go get my metro back? Yes, I know---many want to get rid of their metro part----well, I've always been different.

Until someone posts with some more specific info, or they know the actual cause to help better, this command ran in an elevated command prompt will start to get your troubleshooting on the right track:

sfc /scannow

More info on the exact situation would help? What happens when you click the Start Button, does Metro open or not? If it opens what happens when you click a tile?
