I am new to the frustrations of Window 8 ( I am running a windows 7 desktop and a Vista/Home laptop), but now have a laptop with 8.1 installed. Talk about confusion just with out a start-menu. I am trying to google my issues, but it doesn't always work out.
So, here is one; installed I-tunes, which I also have on the the other two units. Damned if I can figure out how to schroll down the page. The screen looks proper, except the spot on the right side where I usually schroll up and down is not there. I can do it with the number-pad with num lock switched, but that can't be the only way. There is no schrolling on the built in mouse pad.

help please. will have other questions.

My brain clicked, so I clicked on the "maximize button". that did it. never had to hit that before. Now I have to figure out how to change user name under os (c:)users; it does not match "me" as admin-user.

hello, and welcome to Eightforums ,this tutorial by brink should help with the changing of the username .good luck from the other coast
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/8782-user-account-name-change-windows-8-a.html

i will definately look at it; I am slowly figuring things out a bit at a time; like, figured out how to remove permissions(hate them), did manage to become the administrator but I still have to figure out how to become the ONLY user under C:/users.
Strange thing happened last night, but I think it was cuased by changing me over as admin. Moved a bunch of folderers etc from desktop Vista over to desktop windows 8.. folders are all empty on windows 8 desktop.

It happend agian when I copied contents of documents over. I think that when I complete getting the account staightened out with one user avery where I will be able to get it right.

Thanks for the help, and I am sure I will need some more.
