How can I tell what caused my PC to shutdown?

I've been having sleep problems with my Media Center PC I built a few weeks ago. It will go into sleep on it's own or if I manually put it to sleep but just about every day to day and a half, while in sleep mode, it just shuts down.

I've run 7 different tests and all come back perfect...ram, hard drives, video card, peripherals, there are no temp problems that I can find....I've checked everything.
I've installed the pro version of WhoCrashed and it shows no reports of crashes and there is no minidumps. I'm not sure how I can tell what caused this to happen.

I've installed Passmark Sleeper which shows my system supports S3 & S4 sleep, found no problems in the UEFI settings and still, this happens. Since I use this as a DVR with Media Center and a Ceton cablecard tuner, I don't want it to run all day unless it's recording. Away mode is just not 'off' enough.

I'm not sure how to check this out and appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

You can check for heat-related problems. My PC was shutting down when playing flash videos and it turned out that my CPU fan was not attached properly causing the CPU to overheat. I use this program to monitor CPU heat

Core Temp

But since this happens many hours after the pc is in sleep mode, the system is cool. But, I've run lots of tests to force the computer into heavy activity and it's as cool as can be. This was the first thing I did. I can watch tv for 8 hours straight using the system and it never shuts down. Only in sleep mode.

I've tried Core Temp (thanks for the linky) and it shows temps in the 28-32 range no matter what I hit with it. I should say I have an H100i Corsair cooler and 4 fans running quietly and doing a great job.
Another thing I changed just in case, was the APC surge protector. Got a brand new one that can handle 3 systems this size. Guess I wasted my money on that.

I left the machine on all day and set to not go to sleep and as I thought, it stayed on. So, something about sleep mode causes the computer to shut down.

Have a look in the Reliability Monitor. Maybe there is a clue.

Ever since 8 came out sleep mode has been buggy to say the least. It works for some and not others and others experience the same your experiencing. For me it doesn't work at all...
