just now installed windows 8 developers preview

1st disappoint is i couldnt find usual start button
2.when i press windows logo it shifts to page with diff icon

how the hell(sorry to use) do i run any applications from it
for example if i double click the suduko game icon instead of running it give pin unpin uninstall option

i wanted to connect to remote desktop but i couldnt identify the way for it!!!

once installed the icons looked really cool and i thought i can double click any icon to launch the application but that isnt happening

my first thought is why did they remove start button how the hell do i get to my computer or run any application for eg paint or rdp etc

sorry for my harsh words thats my disappointment towards windows 8

they say when something is going good dont try to fix it

hope some one help me here!!!

I suggest you use the many work arounds (to the metro interface) listed here in eight forums.

The start button is there (for now) but things are somewhat different than win 7.

Have you found and used the workarounds so "metro" looks like win 7? If not I suggest you do so that it will be more familiar for you.

The developer preview is so that you can learn to use the new OS and it is different

If it is asking for a live.com id you probably dont have win 8 set up with a local email account.

What exactly are you trying to do?

What was your OS before WDP?

oh thanks i got that from here

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...le-enable-metro-context-menu-windows-8-a.html
is it possible to run an application by double clicking the icons if not whats the use of those icons!!!

thanks anyway!!!

Hi Raj.
You are certainly able to get your old menu style work for you. But I strongly suggest you to turn the metro on sometimes, then you can have your chances learning the new style of WDP. It won't hurt you at all.
yeah at first look i was surprised and shocked to see no start button but windows 8 got many new features i just want to get familiar to the new look !!!
