    Sloooooow since 8.1 upgrade

OK ... I'll admit I am one of those people who are not particularly ... fond ... of windows 8 but it worked alright and I ignored a lot of its annoying foibles. For the last month or so I kept getting that notice that I was eligible for the 8.1 upgrade. So, I finally upgraded a couple of days ago. Since then, although it still works relatively well, I'm able to play all of my Battlefield and Bioshock games and such without any discernable problems, browsing seems to have slowed to a crawl. Before, when I was on my Comcast homepage, I would click on anything and in a second or two, pop, there it is. Now, I click on my email, I click on a link, I try to go to ebay, I try to click on a picture on ebay, pretty much anything, and I have to wait 10 to 15 seconds for the item to come up. The little " circle of progress " just sits there going around and around. Anybody got any suggestions on what to do to get rid of these little naptimes?

I only have one thought. When it was installing, a Microsoft account security code came up and I had the 7 digit code sent to my email account and, of course, I couldn't access that while it was installing, so, I clicked on the option to do this later. As yet, nothing has come up to complete the verification code part. Could this be some sort of problem that needs to be addressed?

Any suggestions would be appreciated, until then, I'll just have these little annoying naps.

Lucky you, after upgrading I had bunch of stuff missing, couldn't play any of my Games and turning on/restarting my Laptop started to take about 30 to 40 seconds, while it was about 2 before the upgrade. You probably gonna have to clean install it

    Hi Scarecrow800,
Go to installed updates and see whether you have these two updates KB2887595, KB2903939 installed, uninstall them, turn off automatic updating, reboot and see whether it helps.
This I found on another thread relating to a different make of PC but it worked for me when I had the similar problems, it may or may not work but worth a try.
