    "Metro" photos

I recently purchased a new Dell laptop that, unfortunately, came with Windows 8. I immediately installed Classic Shell to make the system minimally useable. I uploaded some photos from my camera and the "library" system screwed them all up, creating hundreds of folders, only three of which contained photos. I deleted all of the photos, files, and folders but the photos still show up in the rotating photo tile on the "Metro" screen. The photo "library" is empty and I didn't authorize the system to store them anywhere else. Does anyone know where these are being stored? Any suggestions on how to fix this design defect? Thanks for your help!

Hello c1ogden, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Clearing your personal info from live tiles will remove them.

    J,

There's no need to go through all that manually when clearing the live Tile cache will do the same automatically.

Odd thing is that I don't even have a microsoft.windowsphotos_&wekb3d8bbwe folder at that location in my Windows 8.1.

Once you cleared your live tile cache make sure to select a picture program to be your default picture viewer. Otherwise by default the metro app with continue to be the default viewer. I use windows live photo gallery as my default photo viewer.

    Hello Jimbo,

In addition, you could also select to use the already included Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 8/8.1 as well instead of the modern Photos app.

    Brink ,
Back in Feb 13 . I had the photo app auto import about 30 gigs of photos . Your clearing the live tile cache did not remove the photos . I had to find them . Took a while . Used Windirsat to do it .
I am still on 8 not 8.1 it is strange that your 8.1 does not have that folder . MS must have changed the cache location .
    Sorry for the misinformation

He sure can...good point...but I like the extra features the Window Live Photo Gallery offers. It's the only reason why I mentioned it over the built in windows photo viewer because it just has the basics options.
