sounds like it might be you video controller or graphics card drivers you don't list in you specs what you are using ,you don't list the system manufacture and model# of the computer ,im thinking win8.1 enterprise might not be for your machine

The HD videos that I am watching now, is getting smoother and better seeking - but thanks anyway. I still need to listen to this thread if I have the problem again.

Oh Yes, MPC-HC, if you do download a codec pack for it, and there are only a couple of bonafide packs you can get, you MUST confiure it in the MPC-HC settings, MPC-HC does nto automatically set those up.

You have to look around in Prefs, the codec packs will have a whole section for config.

But the way you explain VLC behaving, is indicative of something seriously hosed on your system. You may have way too many programs competing for resources, especially if you have Norton or McAfee running. Go into Task Manager and disable as many startup programs as you can, and when you watch a movie, wither shut off Mcafee/Norton completely or shut off the Real Time Protection.

I don;t run an AV on my Media System which uses VLC Only, and I don't download anything to that system or use it for the web at all. The Program never stutters and it is as if I am watching it on HBO.

Basically, if you want to use any particular PC to watch Videos, you cannot use it for any other purposes, no downloading, no Browsing.

Windows Media Player will never match how good VLC runs, no matter what you do, the quality is just not there, and all of the codec packs in the world (and you should be very careful which ones you get) cannot help it.

There is a codec pack that is distro with MPC-HC, it is the only valid codec pack there is and it is rigged to allow playing Disney Protected Media.

Um, I think I am getting this problem again. I have JVCHD video that makes the video freezes and crashing. I don't want to use VLC or any other player. I just want to know what the specified problem answer to this question.
