Solved Win 8.1 - Cannot add features

I recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 x64. Now I cant seem to add any features to it. I want to add Media Centre but the "Add features" utility tells me that I cannot add features to Windows 8.1. Please look at the screenshot-:



But my Windows 8.1 is a genuine copy and is activated. Have a look at the next screenshot please-:



Can someone tell me what to do ?? I really need Media Centre.

The link that you have given me says that I have to first go to "Add Features to Windows 8.1" and then click "I want to buy product key online" from that screen. but for me instead of that option I am getting you cannot add features to this version of Windows. Where do I add features from ???

What happens when you click "Get more features with a new edition of windows" in your second screen shot?

Same thing. "You cannot add features to this version of Windows".

is there any way I can manually download and add Windows Media Center to Windows 8.1 ?? I mean without the "Add features" option.

Are you running as an Admin? I when I attempted the procedure outlined above it worked for me. But I was prompted for Admin credentials before it ran.

It was a problem of KMS. Seems like you cannot add features to Windows 8.1 if it is KMS activated. I had to uninstall my KMS server (KMSPico) and activate it using slmgr.

slmgr /ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxx (your windows 8.1 key). Then I could add features and then activate Windows 8.1 with Media Center with Microsoft Toolkit(AutoKMS using WinDivert method).

Everything is working fine now.
