Solved Moved from Win 7 to Win 8, and may have SSD problems?

Hi....hoping you can advise me here.

System is: ASUS P8Z68-VLX, Intel i3-2120, GeForce GT-430...+8GB

Was originally running Win 7 (Ultimate 64), with the OS on SSD (Adata 120gb)
I used a setup guide found on Win 7 forums...and had no problems.

Recently, I did a fresh install (to the same SSD) of Win 8 Pro 64, and totally forgot about following any guide to setup the SSD.

For 2 months now, system has been faultless...with lightning bootups!

In the last week however, I am experiencing huge (up to 5 minute) delays on boot up, with the system 'hanging' on the ASUS M/B screen, before successfully booting!

It occurs that some tweaking of the SSD might be called for, and if this is so, was hoping that someone might point me towards a suitable guide. I am hoping to avoid a re-install of Win 8

Thanks

Well, I suspect if the system has been faultless for two months, the problem isn't the SSD settings. Seems to me something like that would've shown up immediately. Have you checked for malware?

I don't think it is the SSD. Looks more like a Windows or BIOS problem. Hard to say without further details.

You could trace the boot time with Soluto. That will give you a detailed list of what's using all the time.

Totally at a loss as to what to do, having installed Soluto...

OK....Soluto records a log file, and an inventory file in .xlsx format....but I can't upload these here as they are invalid types.

There should be a chart that shows all the processes that run during boot and their timings.

...still haven't spotted this!

However.....have used System Restore...to the only automatic restore point available (30th Nov)...and RESULT...Improved booting!!

I'm sure there is a lesson to be learned here....but what is it??
