[Tsk Mgr]Access denied while trying end certain processes

Hello.

I am currently using Windows 8 Professional (x64) as an administrator. My issue is that often certain programs or software do not exit properly and show up on Task manager as background processes. The issue is that I cannot end these processes because "Access is Denied" and must therefore restart my computer in order to run these programs. A simple example is Skype. When I quit Skype, it will show up as a background process on Task manager and I cannot end the process. If I try to sign into my Skype account again, it says that I am already logged in from this computer. Battlefield 4 is another example. I've never had this issue with Skype or BF4 previously, nor do I remember installing something significant that may have made changes to my PC.

Thanks in advance.

This is normal operation for Windows 8 and 8.1, a LOT of apps are locked. I've had trouble with the same thing, I think what I did was I changed the users for the EXE files, so that "all users" had full access to the EXE of those programs, then I could shut em off this way.

Maybe there are other ways to do this, but every Windows 8 and 8.1 PC I have does this in some way.

Thank you for the reply. You're probably right; several apps are often locked. However, I find it strange that this little predicament had only started a few days ago. I'll try to change the permissions and report back.

Can you tell me which Program started doing this? I can't tell from your image, usually the one affected is highlighted.
