I have to keep signing in and Programs dont work

Hello,

I recently got a new computer with Windows 8. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and it was causing me more problems than before, so finally I wiped everything off my computer and went back to Windows 8.

Now all of a sudden, it seems like everything that I have, I have to keep signing into it all the time.

Like when I restart my computer every morning, I have got to re-sign into my Gmail again.

Also, it seems like almost every time I just click on Internet Explorer, and I have Google as my home page, it asks me "Do you want this as your homepage?" I always click YES. I have it down as my home page. But it just keeps on asking me.

Secondly, so many of my programs won't work, it says they are "incompatible". My old ftp program wouldn't work so I bought a new one that said its compatible with Windows 8. It worked for a couple of weeks now all of a sudden it says it is incompatible.

I cannot afford this!

My html editor is incompatible, my ftp program is incompatible, my desktop bible program is incompatible.

Can anyone help me with these problems please?

Also one last thing, when I had to fill out all sorts of stuff when I first set this back to factory defaults, it was trying to make me have to use my Microsoft Account, so I had to create an account. Could this be causing these continuous signing in problems? and if so, is there a way to undo this?

Im using it now, it works on all windows versions. It's Modular, and they have a bunch of free modules. I never use anything but King James, and they have the Greek and Hebrew versions that you can install and see what it really says. Some of the more modern translations are way watered down, King James at least leaves the flavor of the original intent. They also have Thompson Chain refs and Treasury of Scripture Knowledge guides that you can install, before you download any addons read what it is, but they have bunches of free versions oad addons. Ive used hundreds of Bible Programs this is the best one, because it is just a reference, I care not for maps and pics and little noises, I just wanna see the words.

For FTP, I use SmartFTP but there are others, CuteFTP which has a free version. I think your FTP program, it may have an update, so go to the website of whoever made it, and check - They may offere it to you for free, but be prepared to pay at least a little something, usually they are not that costly.


I'll try to find more FTP alternatives for you, but try out Online-Bible, it's the best. As far as being kicked off your logins I highly suggest using an MS account and log in to your computer with THAT. I;ve never lost a login since I did it, and when I open IE or Chrome it remembers my credentials.

I think there are settings for Credentials in Windows, I'll have to look that up- But if someone knows where they are offhand please post it.

I only want a program that is KJV and that I can just choose a book or books of the bible and put in the keywords I am looking for. I really don't want anything else. That's why I loved my Compuworks desktop bible. Is there a way to set this program that way, without all the other stuff on it?

Well then just get the advanced starter pack, all it has is KJV. You dont have to bother with the extras if you dont want to, the browser is good enough. It allows up to 8 different windows to be open with different verses so you can crosscheck. The only other translation I like is NASB, but you gotta buy that.
